The Revelation of Jesus Christ

God wants to touch the heart of his people and challenge the Church to do great things for him.  God loves people and his desire is to see his people bless in such a marvelous way, God is calling the church to separate itself unto holiness as Christ is Holy. We have a church mentality of providing an exciting place of worship, which is surrounded by many programs and functions.  Praise and worship are presented, but the anointing to break yokes and set the captives free is not in operation.  We sometimes have prayer meetings and hope that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are in action.  This is only relevant to the churches that still believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.  A powerful preaching gospel is also presented, but lacks the signs that are mentioned in the book of Acts.  Our goal should be to follow the patterns and examples that are mentioned in the book of Acts.  God always uses illustrations and patterns that are very important to the progressiveness of the Kingdom.  In the Tabernacle of Moses there were certain patterns laid out to give us insight and revelation on things to come.  It also reflected the importance to function in the Kingdom of God and how to worship God.  There is a key verse that is very important in helping us understand the importance of the word of God.  Proverbs 25:2, “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."  There are many things that God has concealed in the scriptures, but as we continue to search them out and hunger for wisdom and understanding the Spirit will reveal God’s hidden agenda.  The Bible tells us that heaven and earth declares his glory and we could understand spiritual things by observing the natural surroundings.  Jesus used many natural circumstances to convey spiritual truths to his disciples.   Many of us our reputation proceeds us, some have a good reputation and others not so good.  We like to parade our accolades and credentials, but never our short comings or disappointments.  In order to have a Christ-like Ministry we must be like him.  My favourite scripture verses is Phil 2:5-7, which states “5Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  6Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  7But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.”  This is the verse that captured my attention and caused me to have a deeper love and appreciation for my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The revelation of Jesus is one of the most profound and spectacular truth ever recorded; and it has also become a stumbling block for some.  Jesus is not lesser than God the father, He is equal in Deity, equal in Power and equal in Glory.  If you look at the word equal in the New Testament it is a derivative from the Greek word Isos, which means equal in quality and quantity.  God is Holy, so Jesus is Holy, God is Just so Jesus is Just, God is Almighty so Jesus is Almighty, God is the Creator so Jesus is the Creator.  In the book of John we also see the equality of Jesus and his creative ability.  John 1:1, “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God.  The same was the beginning with God.  All things were made by him and without him was not any thing made that was made.”  If we go to verse 14, it will tell us who the word represents.  John 1:14, “and the word was made flesh, and dwell among us (and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the father,) full of grace and truth.”  We learn that without Jesus nothing was made, because his hands were in the creation of all things.  Jesus made one of the most power statement recorded in the New Testament.  In the company of the scribes and Pharisees; Jesus was asked if he was greater than Abraham and Jesus said “verily, verily I say unto you before Abraham was I am.”  Jesus was simply saying that he exist even before Abraham was born.  Could you imagine how upset the people would be after acknowledging Abraham as the progenitor of Faith; the Patriarch and Father of many nations?  They were ready to stone Jesus, because it was blasphemy to them.  They did not understand that Jesus is God incarnated in flesh, Jesus is not only the descendant of Abraham, but also the Creator of Abraham.

I am so glad that we know the truth concerning our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  Jesus had a previous existence in Heaven and eternity, but step out of eternity and into time.  In other words Jesus took a time out for us.  I am so glad that Jesus took a time out and fulfilled the words spoken by the Prophet Isaiah: “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we are healed.”  I want you to picture a King who had an empire that was so impressive that people all over the world would talk about it.  Now the King decides to leave his Kingdom and put on the garments of a servant and use a foot basin to wash the feet of fishermen.  Even though he knows who he is and is able to exercise his authority at anytime, but chooses to submit himself to that which is inferior and common.  This is an anaemic illustration of how powerful the sacrifice was that Jesus made for humanity.  Jesus was mentioned in Philippians as wearing the label of No Reputation.  Some people are intimidated just to wear no name jeans.   They have to wear designer jeans or the most popular brand names, today’s generation needs the most popular clothing and sometimes that’s the church.  In having a “No Reputation Ministry” we are imitating Jesus Christ.  Act 10:38 says “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth, with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all who were oppress of the devil for God was with him”.   We need the anointing in order to minister effectively; without the anointing the yokes that are destroying people’s lives cannot be removed and the burdens cannot be lifted.  The shows that are being aired are mostly focusing on the supernatural realms and the spirit world.  We are in the days where there is a hunger for the supernatural and the church have a supernatural God that desires to touch this generation.  We need to be in a position to allow the power of God to flow through us and touch this needy and dying world.  There is no recession, lack or poverty in heaven God wants to bless his people and provide the necessary tools to win the lost.

As we trust in Jesus and lose our reputation and put on the mind of Christ we will have dominion over the works of the devil.  Jesus knew that his purpose would be greater served as the sacrificial lamb and not just the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.  In death He is the Lamb and Saviour; in resurrection He is the King and Lord.  God could now relate to us in a greater way, because he has put on the garments of humanity.  The Bible says that he made himself lower than the angels.  Hebrew 2:9, “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man”.  It is amazing that approximately 800 years before Jesus came to the earth Isaiah the prophet spoke about him in Isaiah 9:6-7, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.  7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this”.  A true hero is not one who merely catches a ball for his team, but one who is willing to catch a bullet for his country.   A soldier will pay the greatest price, which is losing his own life for our freedom and democracy.  Jesus caught the nails of the cross in his flesh in order to bring salvation and healing to the Nations.
